Rodeo-Ready Outfits: What to Wear to Your Next Country Event
Whether you’re heading to a local rodeo, a country concert, or something along those lines - the right outfit can make all the difference for feeling comfortable and stylish!
Let’s be honest, these days when I’m going to a local rodeo, I am usually wearing jean shorts and a tee shirt. The tee shirt is typically one of my dad’s old ones where it’s fraying on the neck and has holes in the armpits. Why are men’s tee shirts so much softer and just better overall?!? Anyways, I pair it with a ball cap or trucker hat, hoop earrings, my square toe boots, and call it a day! Sounds like the perfect amount of effort in my opinion... For a concert I would wear something a little more funky! So whether you are a dress it up kind of girl, participating in the rodeo, or just leaving your house for the first time all day, wear whatever you want! These are just suggestions on the basics:
1. Classic Cowboy Boots
The foundation of any country look is a great pair of cowboy boots. Whether you prefer traditional leather or something with a bit of embellishment, make sure your boots are not only stylish but comfortable. Can't go wrong with a pair of classic brown snip toe or square toe boots. And they should be comfortable enough to be in for a few hours. I call my favorite pair of boots "socks" because they are THAT comfy!
2. Flirty Dresses with a Western Twist
A cute, flowy dress is always a great option for warmer weather rodeo events. Look for dresses with a feminine touch, like a soft floral print, ruffles, or even a bit of fringe or lace to add a Western hint. Pair it with your cowboy boots for the perfect mix of girly and rugged.
3. Denim Everything
You can never go wrong with denim at a country event. A classic pair of well-fitted jeans or a denim jacket can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. My favorites are my Wrangle, Ariat, and Levi's jeans. For a more chic look, try a denim skirt or a button-up shirt paired with boots for the perfect rodeo-ready look. Also no matter what anyone tells you, jean on jean, chef's kiss!
4. Western Accessories
To complete your rodeo look, accessorize with some jewelry—think turquoise or Navajo pearls, trucker hats, or chunky silver rings. A cowgirl hat is also a great choice for both style and sun protection.
Remember - whatever you wear, just remember to keep it comfortable and true to your personal style!
